SHARON's Obituary

Sharon Kay Mohelski, 80, Barnum, died peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, February 14, 2026 in Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton.  She was born on April 28, 1945 in Mankato to Thorl and Beatrice Oachs.  Sharon married Steven Mohelski on August 7, 1999 in Barnum.

She was a woman whose life was rooted in love, family, and caring for others.  She spent many years working in the Moose Lake area at Solheim Hardware and as a Home Health Aide for Mercy and Essentia.  Sharon also did Home Foster Care for many years.  She was known for her hard work ethic and kind heart.  Sharon loved gardening and took pride in her vegetables and yard.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and made sure that no one ever left her home hungry.  Since taking care of people came natural to her, Sharon wanted everyone to have a good meal, feel welcome, and know they were loved.  Sharon enjoyed time outdoors and especially camping with her grandchildren when they were little.  She took many memorable fishing trips to Canada and also had a treasured summer vacation to Alaska which created memories that would last a lifetime.

Above all, Sharon loved her children and grandchildren deeply.  Her love, warmth, and nurturing spirit will live on through them.  Sharon will be remembered for her generous heart, her home cooked meals and desserts, and the way she made others feel cared for and important.  She will be deeply missed and forever loved.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Inter-Faith Care Center and St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful care.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents: Thorl and Beatrice Oachs; brothers: Gary Oachs, Al Oachs, and Wayne Oachs; sister-in-law: Janet; and two nieces: Sheila and Annette.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Steve; children: Lonnie (Lorraine) Hall of Union, Maine; Tammy (Gary) Peterson of Apple Valley; and Will (Misty) Hall of Carlton; seven grandchildren: Justin (Rozlynn), Brandan, Cole (Mariah), Jasmine, Zander, Wyatt, and Archer; great grandchild: Jazlyn; three brothers: Ron Oachs, Gene (Pat) Oachs, and David (Karyn) Oachs; sister: Diane Romanoski; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and her puppies: George and Molly.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 4-6 pm Monday, February 23, 2026 in Hamln-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home.  There will be no formal service but rather a time to gather and remember a life well lived.  Blessed be the memory of Sharon Kay Mohelski.
