Shelby and I have wonderful memories together at Algood Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She knew her Bible and guided me through several times. But I’ve known her since I lived in Algood as well.

Graveside services for Mrs. Shelby Ibue Johnson, 86 of Cookeville, TN, will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 10:00am at the Algood Cemetery. Bro. Ronald Strong will officiate at the service. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday evening from 4:00-8:00pm at Whitson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson passed away Monday morning October 27, 2025, at the Signature Healthcare in Algood.
Shelby Ibue Johnson was born on July 5, 1939, in Clay County, TN to the late Hawle and Elese (Stockton) Savage. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her Husband: Billy Dee Johnson and Sister: Inez Melton.
She is survived by her two children and spouses: Brenda & Richard Ramsey and Larry & Ellyn Johnson.
Her Grandchildren & Spouses: Marcie & Chad Ackerman, Danny & Tiffany Johnson, Billy & Abby Johnson, Corey & Tia Johnson, and Donnie Johnson.
Great Grandchildren: Raylan & Jasper Johnson sons of Danny & Tiffany, Aliviah & Aleah Johnson daughters of Billy & Abby, Carter, Riley, and Spencer Johnson children of Corey & Tia, Jax Johnson son of Donnie Johnson.
Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the 4th Section nurses & CNAS at the Signature Healthcare in Algood. Plus, Clint & Julie at the Algood Walmart Pharmacy.
Mrs. Johnson was of the Christian faith and wants to let everybody know that she was “Homesick for Heaven.”
