Shelby Jean Young, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Simmons and Lewis West; her husbands, Lewis “Dale” Young and Jasper Pittman; three brothers, Danny West, Steve West, and Jim West; and two sisters, Betty Moore and Sylvia Goodman.
She is survived by sons, Clayton Willoughby (Frances) of Lexington, SC, Tony Pittman (Sharon), Dale Pittman (Kay), and Ricky Pittman (Lora), all of Lumberton; a daughter, Phyllis Pittman Allen (Leroy) of Lumberton; two brothers, Larry West of Charleston, SC and Tim West (Lorie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sisters, Pam Kornahrens and Mary Schram (Matt), both of Mount Pleasant, SC; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday October 12, 2025 at Beulah Baptist Church in Lumberton, with the Revs. Gary Henderson and Joshua Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in Pittman Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
