Not sure what to say?

Sherry and Verna were my life long friends that God blessed me with. We taught Sunday school class together with about 30-40 children in it, we would pray for these children along with our own. Today in my minds eye I can see them both at the feet of Jesus holding each other still praying for our children. My heart is there with them. I can also see Sherry squinting her face and pointing at me saying “ ha ha I beat you and heaven is more beautiful then we imagined “ I wholeheartedly love and...

In loving memory of a wonderful person. I will love and miss you so much Ms. Sherry. I am praying for your family that they will find peace and be able to deal with your passing. I love you all so much.

A very sweet Aunt. My sincere sympathy to all.

Tammy, we are so very sorry for your loss. Know that we love you and are wrapping you up in prayers, hugs and love! Marty and Stephanie

Sherry's Obituary

Sherry Ollis, aged 76, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, in Wynne, Arkansas. She was born on August 15, 1949, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and one of 13 children to Henry Edward and Mattie Lou Tacy Loyd.

In 1969, Sherry came to Moro, Arkansas, with her two children, Tammy and Kenny, and in 1971, she welcomed the birth of her third child, Timmy. Her dedication to her family was unwavering and being a mother was a role she cherished. While raising her children, she attended Moro Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School to teens. It was during this time that she became the “adopted” Mother of many teens in Arkansas while sharing the gospel of Christ.

On October 31, 1992, Sherry became the wife of Lester Ollis. They made their home in Ohio, then Paragould, AR, until Lester's passing, after which Sherry moved to Missouri to be close to her daughter, Tammy. In 2019, she returned to Arkansas, where she would remain. She made her home in the small farming community of Colt and began attending the Caldwell Baptist Church.

She also enjoyed many different hobbies and interests that included her love of cooking, gospel music, dancing, even cleaning and yard work. She also loved the simple pleasures in life such as watching hummingbirds while savoring a cup of morning coffee.

Her life was a testament to her unending love for her family, her church, and her community. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. We invite you to remember Sherry for her love of life, her faith, and the joy she brought into our live
