Sherry's Obituary

Sherry Plimpton of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at Valley Hospice Care Center North. She was born on August 12, 1964, in Washington, D.C., to the late Joseph Jenkins and Jessie Jenkins Elson.

Sherry spent several years working as a server at Pee Dee’s, where she was known for her warm personality and dedication to her job. She was a familiar face in the community and a longtime attendee of St. Paul Church.

Sherry was a proud Steelers fan who loved bears, enjoyed slot machines, and never missed an episode of Chicago P.D. or Law and Order. She was kind, sweet, and cheerful, always carrying herself with grace and positivity. Even on difficult days, it was hard to tell she was going through anything at all.

She leaves behind her loving son, Shane A. Jenkins of Steubenville. She is also survived by her siblings Kathy Spencer, Debbie Filbe (Terry), Pamela Jenkins, Timothy Elson, Timmy Elson, Danny Elson, and Daniel. Sherry was the proud grandmother of Michael Jenkins, Caleb Jenkins, Keiontae Blanchard, and Ariana Jenkins. She is also survived by one niece and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Gregory-Martin Funeral Chapel, 255 S. 7th Street (Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd) in Steubenville, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 4:30 p.m.

Sherry will be remembered for her joyful spirit and the love she shared with everyone around her.
