Sheryl Irene Schumitsch of Grand Blanc, age 73, went to eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Tuesday July 18, 2023 at Medilodge of Grand Blanc. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place.
Sheryl was born in Bay City Michigan the daughter of the late Harold and Irene (Meyer) Bublitz and has resided in the Burton-Grand Blanc over fifteen years, spending her early years in Bay City and Munger, Michigan.
An amazing woman, Sherry was full of life, class and sass. She loved her children and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring friend to many. People could not help but to smile at her contagious laugh, silly remarks, and “Sherry Phrases.” She put her whole heart into everything she did. A fabulous cook, she could create a lavish feast for a large group in minutes, smiling at every simmering pot and casserole.
Sherry was a compassionate, skilled and loving registered nurse. For over ten years she worked as a homecare nurse in Genesee County, retiring in January, 2021. She was loved by her patients and their families almost as much as she loved them. She had a generous heart to help others, including the unborn, women in crisis pregnancies, and anyone who had a need. She was an avid supporter of the Heartbeat Bill, which would give life to any unborn child with a heartbeat. She and her husband were active in their community church, and they served as Life-group leaders, Prayer partners, and Greeters. She loved listening and singing to Christian music and enjoyed sharing the Bible. She was a talented seamstress and created many outfits and items which she distributed liberally to those in need. In the past she had also served as a Mary Kay Distributor.
Sherry will be terribly missed. She is survived by her loving family, husband Frank, daughter Kara Klosowski, and son Kellen (Karolyn) Klosowski. She also leaves her step-children Sean (Ashley) Schumitsch, Jeffrey (Denise) Schumitsch, Kyle Schumitsch, and grandchildren Adrian, Lochlan, and Hayes. She is also survived by two brothers, three sisters and a host of extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday July 29, 2023 at CenterPoint Church, 1225 S. Center Rd., Burton, Michigan. Family will receive visitors from 10:00 am Saturday until noon at the church. Those desiring may make contributions in Sheryl’s memory to Amara Hospice, 3085 Bay Rd. Ste. 3, Saginaw Michigan 48603.
