Shirley I. Bennett, Of Montrose, Pennsylvania, Passed Away Peacefully On January 4, 2026, One Day Shy Of Her 81st Birthday. 

Shirley Was Born On January 5, 1945. She Was A Proud Graduate Of Montrose High School And Spent Much Of Her Life Rooted In The Montrose Community She Loved. 

She Was Married To Phillip Rexford Bennett, With Whom She Shared Many Years Of Hard Work And Devotion. Together, They Worked Side By Side On Their Farm, Building A Life Centered On Family, Perseverance, And Simple Values. After Phillip’s Passing, Shirley Continued To Work Diligently, Holding Several Jobs Including Positions At Laidlaw Corp, Diaz Manufacturing And McDonald’s, Where She Was Known For Her Strong Work Ethic And Reliability. 

Shirley Was A Devoted Mother To Her Two Children, Kimberly Bennett And Scott Bennett. She Especially Loved Decorating And Took Great Joy In Celebrating Every Season—Her Home Was Always Filled With Decorations For Every Holiday, A Reflection Of Her Creativity And Festive Spirit. 

She Was Preceded In Death By Her Beloved Husband, Phillip Rexford Bennett; Her Daughter, Kimberly Bennett; Her Brothers, Charles McAulliffe, Kenny McAulliffe, Melvin McAulliffe, And Malcom McAuliffe; And Her Sister, Mary Owen. 

Shirley Will Be Remembered For Her Hardworking Nature, Her Love Of Family, Her Festive Decorating, And The Quiet Strength She Showed Throughout Her Life. Her Memory Will Live On In The Hearts Of Those Who Knew And Loved Her.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Montrose Cemetery. Friends may call on the family an hopur prior to the service.
