Shirley A. Chambers,
84 of Vanderbilt passed away at 2:15 AM Thursday, October 16, 2025 in the Scottdale Manor & Rehabilitation Center, East Huntingdon Township. Shirley was born on March 10, 1941 at Alverton in East Huntingdon Township, a daughter and one of fifteen children of the late James Gyer and Helen Ruth (Grimm) Roadman. She married Jack A. Chambers and he passed away on May 25, 2008.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a longtime and faithful member of the East Liberty Presbyterian Church in Vanderbilt.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her loving family; her three children, Jack Chambers Jr. of Scottdale, John Chambers (Wanda) of Vanderbilt, and Amy Johnson (Barry Suter) of Connellsville; her nine grandchildren, Chelsea and Koedy Jacobs, and Cheryl, Tiffany, Bryan, Christa, Teena, Jessica, and Josh Chambers; her great grandchildren; her siblings, Bob, James “Buzzy”, and Daniel “Danny” Roadman, Ina Bentz, Susie Swink, and Cindy Hatfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheree Chambers; her son, James Chambers; and her siblings, Tucker and Emory Roadman, Margaret Pritts, Betty Schwartz, Eva Ducheck, and Alberta Ducheck.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the RALPH GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 501 RAILROAD STREET, DAWSON (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday and 9-10 AM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel followed by funeral services at 10 AM Tuesday with Pastor David McElroy officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will be in Alverton Cemetery next to her late husband. Love Lasts Forever!
