Mrs. Shirley Ann Tucker-Ervin, born on September 22, 1940 was called home to God, while surrounded by her loved ones at home on Wednesday, October 8, 2013.Shirley Ervin of 2206 Clary Road, Petersburg, Va., daughter of the late Margaret Mason Tucker and Sterling Tucker, Sr. was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1958. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and for many years dedicated to child care. From private home child care to working at Fort Lee Child Development Center for over 18 years and with Petersburg Head Start Early Childhood Learning Program.She was preceded in death by brothers, Milton Tucker, Sterling Tucker, Jr. and sister, Lillian Harry.As a military spouse to CSM (Ret) James W. Ervin, Shirley travelled the world from Ft. Lewis, Was., to Colorado Springs, Co. to Giessen, Germany. Mrs. Ervin is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, CSM (Ret) James W. Ervin; two children, Angela Flowers (Hill) of Culpeper, Va., and Andre Ervin of Richmond, Va.; three grandchildren, Tyler, Quinton and Sydney. Also surviving loving and devoted family members to include: a sister, Dorothy Tillman (James) of Petersburg, Va., two brothers, Thomas Tucker (Gloria) of Richmond, Va., and Ronnie Tucker of Petersburg, Va.; beloved in-law, Carolyn Ervin of Boston, Ma., Mary Tucker of Ettrick, Va., Tommy Ervin (Diane) of Atlanta, Ga., Janice Wilson (J.S.) of Helfin, Al., Randall Ervin (Patricia) of Colorado Springs, Co., and Richard Harry of Petersburg, Va., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and best friends to include, Paige Harper and Katherine Kemp both of Petersburg, VA.Family and public viewing will be held at J. M. Wilkerson Funeral establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, Va., on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
