Shirley Ann Hanson

Hanson, Shirley A. age 89 of Coon Rapids, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025.

Shirley was known for her warm heart, quick wit and unmatched hospitality. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she brought joy to every gathering – whether around the kitchen table with a home cooked meal, at the card table in a spirited game, or on the golf course enjoying the sunshine and good company.

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry; parents, William and Esther; sister, Marilyn and grandson, Michael Hanson. She was survived by her sons, Brad (Deb), Doug (Rebekah), Mark (Beth); grandchildren, Megan (Tom) Knutson, Tony Hanson, Curtis Hanson, Cristina (Bryan) Anderson, Tiffany (Matt) Larsen, Katie (Dalton) Munn, Jillian Hanson, Gemma Hanson; 9 beloved great grandchildren, Ava Hanson, Autumn Hanson, Noah Larsen, Benjamin Knutson, Matthew Knutson, Brody Larsen, Ezekiel Anderson, Raphael Anderson, Christopher Munn; brother, Jerry Evans. Shirley is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and humor. Shirley’s legacy is one of love, laughter and lasting memories. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 5 – 8 PM at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay St. NW, Andover. Services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, starting with a visitation from 10 – 11 AM followed by the service at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 S. 4th Ave, Anoka.
