Shirley Ann Lambeth, age 91, passed away on March 18, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. A private burial will be held at a later date.
She was born on August 4, 1934, in Goree, Texas, to W.E. “Salty” and Nettie Blankinship. Shirley spent her childhood in Goree alongside her brothers and sisters, where they built close bonds that lasted a lifetime.
Shirley met the love of her life, Cordas Ray “Rabbit” Lambeth, in high school, and the two were married in 1952. Together, they shared a lifetime of love and happiness while raising their family. Shirley often said they never had a fight and that theirs was the kind of marriage people strive to have a true testament to their deep love and commitment to one another.
Shirley was known far and wide for her generous spirit and her love of cooking. She found great joy in feeding others and never wanted anyone to go without a good meal. If she thought you were hungry, you could be certain you would be fed. To sit at her table was to feel cared for, welcomed, and loved. Those who were lucky enough to enjoy her cooking knew they were truly blessed.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cordas Lambeth; her parents; her siblings; and her great-grandchild, Charlie Rene Jones
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Choate and husband Derrald; her son, Terry Lambeth and wife Terri; and her beloved grandchildren, Cody Choate, Crystal Hermesmeyer and husband Sam, Laura Jones and husband Doug, Brad Lambeth and wife Rebecca, and Heath Lambeth and wife Micha. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Cutter Hermesmeyer and wife Riley, Cailyn Jones, Libby Lambeth, Lane Lambeth, and Cannon Choate; and her great-great-grandchild, Payte Hermesmeyer; her sisters Jean Adkins and Melba Feemster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley’s life was a reflection of love, devotion, and family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
