Not sure what to say?

I share so many memories with Shirley. Our boys, Gordon and Peter were best buds during high school and college. Shirley taught me how to paint with acrylics and we took classes together. We helped each other through troubling times and enjoyed many good family dinners together. She was a good friend.

She was an awesome talented and thoughtful woman! I Will never forget the painting lessons she gave me at Kihei Sands. I still have my luggage tag we painted together! We loved our dinners together and sunsets and owner's meetings! We will never forget her kindness. I never heard her say anything negative! A real precious woman! We will remember our times together including our times at the hula shows with Bob at the Kihei restaurant that is no longer! Shirley you have been a blessing in our...

Long time neighbor and close friend for yearsWe miss you already, but fond and comical memories and adventures from the Jersey Shore; NYNY; Annapolis, Md.; Hawaii; and Lake Tahoe shall keep them alive forever.
Our deepest sympathy to Bob and the Family. Rest In Peace Shirley.

Shirley’s beautiful obituary describes her achievements as a devoted mother and a wife to Bob MacPherson for almost 67 years.

One could say the one theme of Shirley’s life we all knew was whatever Shirley did she did well. She was talented, intelligent, dependable and as a mother she adored her boys and possessed what all mothers need: a keen sense of humor--- especially when it came to kids. I remember often laughing at her quiet analysis of what kids usually do, usually...

Shirley and Bob invited my wife Barbara and I to many wonderful Christmas dinners with their family over the years. The food was always delicious and the table always so beautiful. Barbara was one of Shirley’s art students. Barbara also welcomed Shirley at the gates of Heaven. Shirley, you will be terribly missed by not only your family but also so many friends and countless lives that you touched.

Shirley was the most genuine, gracious and kind person I have ever been fortunate to meet and grateful to have known. She was a great teacher/mentor in Paint Class and I will cherish her words to me, ”you can put your paintbrush down now”, as I had a tendency to “overwork” my projects and it became our little joke. Without a doubt, she was on in a trillion in this world. And she was dearly missed during her absence but was in my thoughts frequently and will be forever in my heart. Thank...

Shirley was one of the most genuine, gracious and kind persons I’ve ever been fortunate to meet and grateful to have known. She was the best mentor in Paint Class. I will cherish her words she would frequently say to me”you can put your paintbrush down now”. I had a tendency to ‘overwork’ my projects. She was missed dearly during her absence and was in my thoughts frequently. Shirley, thank you for all you were to meyou are forever in my heart. RIP dear friend.

Have always loved putting out amazing handmade Christmas decorations from Shirley; putting them out will mean even more moving forward. Shirley was always thrilled to see Santa when he would make his "surprise" visit on Christmas Eve at Emily Gates home where we all gathered. Will miss her for sure!

Totally agree on the beautiful entries about Shirley here. I want to add one more .

She was HILARIOUS! Witty, dry humor which was unexpected in such an elegant woman.
I will treasure the moments of laughter and love with Shirley....
