Shirley Ann Slusher, age 76, of Des Arc, Missouri, passed away Monday June 9, 2025 at Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont, Missouri. She was born March 1, 1949 in Blytheville, Arkansas, the daughter of William and Edith (McQuay) Russell.
On November 10, 1967, she married James Gay Slusher in Des Arc and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2024. Shirley graduated college in 1997 as a licensed Registered Nurse and later retired from Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont.
Preceding her in death are her parents, William & Edith Russell, her husband Gay Slusher, and a brother, Carl Wayne Russell.
Survivors include 2 children, Jimmy Slusher and his wife Angel, of Des Arc, Gayla Dace and her husband John, of Oak Ridge, MO; 5 grandchildren, Crystal Slusher, Brad Slusher, Karl Slusher, Emma Dace and William Dace; 1 great grandchild, Ean Slusher; 2 sister-in-laws, Sue Hodge and Jeannie Westmoreland; along with many other family and friends.
Visitation was held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services followed at 1:00 PM at the funeral home chapel with Bro. James Gray officiating. Special recorded songs were played for the service with Jimmy Slusher, Quenton Dace, Brad Slusher, Karl Slusher, William Dace, and Crystal Slusher serving as Pall Bearers.
Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery in Des Arc.
