Shirley's Obituary

Graveside rites for Shirley Kay Strawn, 90, will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, in Rose Hill Cemetery, with Reverend Terry Tolbert officiating.

Shirley was born in Ardmore on March 3, 1935.  She was the daughter of the late William Earl and Mattie Hulen Wallace.  She passed from this life to life eternal on September 11, 2025 at a Healdton hospital.

Shirley graduated from Ardmore High School, class of 1953.  She began working for C & M Tire in Ardmore.  She and Wilburn Sye “Will” Strawn were married March 12, 1966 in Ardmore and he preceded her in death on May 20. 2002.

After she retired from the C & M Tire, Shirley began working at the Ardmore Public Library and was there over 20 years before she retired.  She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son David Michael Strawn, her grandson Kristphor Strawn and his wife Shelbie, her great granddaughters, Paisley and Audrey Strawn; her niece Debbie Merlyn and her husband Steve; and a nephew Billy Wallace.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Billy Jack “B.J.”, Thomas and Don Wallace and sisters Gloria Motley and Dixie Wallace.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kristphor Strawn, Billy Wallace, Larry Darter, Larry D. Darter, Cary Williamson, and Clovis Drawbaugh.
