Shirley's Obituary

Shirley A. (Stiles) Tinkham, 53, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on August 30, 2025.  Shirley was born and raised in Lynn and after meeting her husband and getting married she moved to Danvers and then Woburn.  Shirley worked for years as an associate for JC Penny in Peabody.  She was well liked by her peers and was often looked to for guidance to help other staff out.  Shirley was a devoted and wonderful mother and wife.  She was always full of love for her husband Phil and their three boys.  She always had concern for the welfare of her children and always wanted what was best for them.  She was strongly supportive of her husband with whom she spent 30 years of marriage. She was a wonderful sister and friend to all and was a big animal lover, especially of cats.

Shirley loved the Lord.  She was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ.  2 Corinthians 5:8 states: We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.      In addition to her husband of 30 years, Phil, she is survived by her three sons.  Christopher, Joshua, and Justin all of Woburn.  In addition, she is survived by her twin brother Earl and her sisters Beth, Laurie, and Melinda, her sister-in-law Chris Tinkham of Danvers, mother and father-in-law Phil Sr. and Julie Tinkham of Cape Coral Florida, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Shirley Stiles and her brother Billy.

Shirley’s loss is a tremendous loss for the family, and she will be dearly missed until we are reunited again.  Visitation will be at Goodrich Funeral Home 128 Washington Street in Lynn on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  All are welcome to come and remember Shirley and share memories.
