Shirley's Obituary

Mrs. Shirley Faye Lewis Turner, 83, of Galivants Ferry, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 13, 2024, at Conway Medical Center. Born on January 8, 1941, in Tabor City, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Pearly Lewis and Mary Ethel Lewis. Shirley was a devoted wife to the late Neely Turner and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Shirley dedicated many years of her life working at Supreme Lighting Company before retiring to spend more time with her cherished family. She found immense joy in nurturing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, ensuring they were always surrounded by love and care. An avid lover of the outdoors, Shirley enjoyed tending to her flowerbeds and basking in the sun's warmth.

Her love for music, especially Country and Gospel, was well-known, and she was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley. In her leisure time, Shirley enjoyed solving crossword and word search puzzles. A devout Christian, she was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church and held her faith close to her heart.

Shirley is survived by her son, Tommy Turner, Sr., her daughters, Bonnie Turner and Grace Cook, her grandchildren, Tommy Turner, Jr., Coty Gasque, Tiffany Joyner, and Jessica Reason, and her great-grandchildren, Annelise Joyner, Kingston Reason, Lawson Gasque, and Amelia Joyner. She is also survived by her loving companion of 39 years, Bobby Lundy.

She was predeceased by her husband, Neely Turner, her brothers, Gene Lewis and Buddy Lewis, and her son-in-law, Wayne Cook.
