Condolences from Nenningers in Texas and Oklahoma! Wished to been able to make the trip to celebrate Aunt Shirley's life. I consider it a blessing to be part of the Hoefer clan! Many great memories!

Such fond memories of time spent with the Whitelock family in younger days. Shirley and John welcomed us to Eureka more than 55 years ago, and always made us feel special. Your mom's smile and humor is unforgettable, and we are sorry for your loss. Your family will be especially close in our hearts in the days ahead.

To all of the Whitelock family, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was always such a joy to see anytime, but especially on Sunday morning playing music with David for church celebration! You knew all was right in the world for another week. I especially enjoyed your mother's easy laugh and quick wit. She always had a smile on her face. She will truly be missed by all! Blessings to each of you.

Shirley's Obituary

Whitelock, Shirley Ann (nee Hoefer), passed away, Monday, February 9, 2026, in Newman, Georgia, with her family by her side. Shirley was born in Doniphan, Missouri to Carl and Mazie Hoefer, who preceded her in death.

After attending Southeast Missouri State she married John L. Whitelock, who preceded her in death after 52 years of marriage. Shirley was the mother of Diane (Richard) Linebarger, Missouri, Cathy (Carl) Callahan, Georgia, Brenda (Terry) Lunsford, Florida, John H. (Pam) Whitelock, Missouri and Julie (Ashley) Whitelock, Missouri. She was a fun-loving grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 10. She was also a sister of Jack Hoefer, Tennessee, Martha Hoefer, Missouri and Rosie Hoefer Smith, Illinois. Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings Frances (Howard) Tooke, Marjorie (John) Thompson, Mary (Bernard) Nenninger, Betty Hoefer and Joe Hoefer. She was also survived by many dear cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services:  Visitation will be held at the Central Baptist Church, Eureka, Missouri, Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. with Funeral service at 12:45 p.m. Interment Washington Methodist Cemetery, Washington, Missouri immediately after the service.
