Sondra Sue Thomas, 59 of Spearman passed away on Saturday, January 3,2026 in Amarillo.
Viewing will be on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 3:00p.m. until 9:00p.m., Tuesday, January 6,2026 from 9:00a.m. until 9:00p.m. and Wednesday, January 7,2026,9:00a.m. until 11:00a.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, 2:00p.m., at the Union Church in Spearman with Gunner Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Hansford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Sondra was born on August 16,1966 in Borger, Texas to Jerry Don Younger and Gwendolyn Colquitt Younger. She was a CNA in the medical field for many years.
Sondra loved spending time with her grandkids. She enjoyed cooking, baking and decorating. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Tammy Gail Backus.
She is survived by her daughters, Amanda Backus and husband Ramon Lopez of Gruver, Amber and husband Mark Gonzales of Perryton, grandchildren, Payton, Alyssia, Preston, Alanna, Mark Jr. and Tristan, great-grandsons, Antonio and Camilo, two sisters, Kim Stanley and husband Paul of Amarillo, Patty Wilkins and husband Victor of Amarillo, niece, Victoria Burkhart and Nephew Gunner Wilkins. She is also survived by many great nieces, nephews and friends.
Family suggests memorials in memory of Sondra be to one’s favorite charity or Hansford Manor Stocking Fund, 717 S. Roland, Spearman, Texas 79081.
