Sister Amalia (Emily) Torres Martin, M.C-M., age 94, of Upland, California, entered eternal rest on August 15, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by the loving presence and prayers of her religious family, the Cordi-Marian Missionary Sisters. She passed away peacefully at Windemere at Westover Hills Nursing Home.Born on July 10, 1931, to Porfirio Torres and Ramona Martin in Upland, California, Sister Amalia embraced her religious vocation with profound devotion. She entered the convent of the Cordi-Marian Missionary Sisters on December 21, 1950, in León, Guanajuato, Mexico. Her life was a radiant testament to faith, service, and love.Deeply committed to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, patroness of the Cordi-Marian Missionary Sisters, Sister Amalia ministered with compassion and joy to women, men, and children through Catholic catechetical education and social outreach. She offered steadfast support to various Cordi-Marian communities, always embodying the spirit of unity and grace.
