Stephen Ellis Burk, 67, passed away on January 18, 2026, in West Helena, Arkansas. He was born on May 26, 1958, in Marvell, Arkansas, and remained closely connected to his home state throughout his life.
Stephen graduated from Marvell Academy as a member of the Class of 1976. Following his education, he worked at Food Giant in Harrisburg, Arkansas, where he dedicated many years before retiring.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. These pursuits offered him both solitude and a deep connection to nature.
Stephen was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Marvell, where he found spiritual community and fellowship.
Stephan was proceeded in death by his parents, Ellis and Pearlie Smith Burk. He is remembered by his brother Barry Burk and sister-in-law Diane of Holly Springs, Mississippi; his sister Cheryl Schwartz and brother-in-law Donnie of Port Charlotte, Florida; and his sister Phyllis Cutlip and brother-in-law Don of Marvell, Arkansas.
May Stephen’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
