I was more than shocked when a friend informed me just this morning via Facebook Messenger of Steve's passing. It's probably been more than two decades since we last saw Steve and at least that long since we worked on the same radio staff together. My biggest memory with Steve was his love for children and his generosity with our own two daughters when they were very young, around the time Steve was creating puppet shows with "The Bugs." Steve's generosity didn't just extend to young fans...

I had the privilege of working with Steve at Head Start. We had an instant connection as we both attended Cloquet High School and that I had graduated with his sister Susan. He always had a kind word for me and everyone. The world is a colder place with the loss of this good man.

Stephen Bruce Mylander, 76, of Blaine passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025. Stephen loved God, family, church, neighbors and students and his pets.
Beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle. He enjoyed music, reading especially Shakespeare and poetry. He produced radio shows and announced on air. Worked with students and staff at Head Start. Loved to fish, ride bicycles, and collected fossils in quarries In Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota. He donated his collection to the Geology Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Most of all he was devoted to serving our God and Savior Jesus Christ. His heart was yielded to God’s will and he served as God led him. Well done good and faithful servant.
He was preceded in death by his parents Waldemar and Ruth Mylander and his brother, Jim.
He is survived by his wife Ann, his son Andrew (Kim) Mylander, and sisters, Susan Peterson, Marcia (Rod) Markin, sister in laws Natalie Mylander, Terry (Austin) Winters, mother-in-law, Vivian Fishel and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11 AM at Evangelical Covenant church in Moose Lake, Minnesota. Visitation will one hour prior to the Service. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
