Stephen Popp
Bridgeport, MI
Passed away peacefully Sunday, December 14, 2025, at AdventHealth in Sebring, FL; age 68 years. Steve was born on November 30, 1957, in Saginaw, MI to the late Ronald and Jean Popp. He was married to Deborah Schluckebier on January 12, 1980, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church of Bridgeport; she survives him.
Steve was employed by Nutrien Ag Solutions until his retirement. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport and Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #258. He enjoyed hunting and driving around the farm on his SxS. Steve loved wintering in Florida and spending time with his family.
Surviving besides his wife Debbie are: son Ben (Lindsay) Popp of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren: Aiden, Keegan, and Makenzie Popp; siblings Sandy (Mike) Bauman, Mark (Cindy) Popp, and Rhonda (Doug) Akers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Don (Linda) Schluckebier, Jim Schluckebier, Roxanne (Walt) Lelo, Pat Schomaker, and Connie Schluckebier; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Ronald and Jean Popp, Steve was preceded in death by mother-in-law and father-in-law Arnold (Marion) Schluckebier and brother-in-law Paul Schomaker.
Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Rd, Bridgeport, MI. Rev. Tim Behnke will officiate with burial in Pinegrove Cemetery. Steve’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #258 will have a service on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport.
