Steve was an awesome man who had a great wit, a country accent and always had something good to say. I shook his hand at church on Sunday, November 10th not knowing that was the last time I would see him. I was blessed to call him friend but even more blessed to call him my brother in Christ. I have been praying for Amy and the family and will continue to do so...

Ps 61: 1-2 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
My deepest condolences and prayer to the Pope family.

With this huge lump in my throat, I would like to express my deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of this great friend. As we share in grief for this tremendous loss, I am praying for healing, comfort and strength. This is a very hard one for me because he always made me feel like his “brother from another mother”. The love he exhibited transcends All boundaries. I know God is elated that you are with Him as one of His mighty warriors. We showed love through laughter, presence, honesty, and genuine loving kindness to me and all that knew you. I love you and I miss you, my brother. To “the sexiest white man at Conard”, come from who deemed the “the sexiest black man at Conard” It has truly been a pleasure having you as a friend. Love you Bro. My deepest and most condolences.

Steve was a good friend. We have known Steve a long time and shared many good times with him during our teen years and early 20s. Hung out a lot together. Fun times. May peace be with the family and know that he is in the arms of Jesus now. Love Bud and Robin Smotherman.❤

Steve was truly one of the most special people I ever interacted with. He was always honest, trustworthy and a great friend. If I needed anything done, he was always my first call. He took pride in his work, loved his family and was a man of faith. He will be greatly missed. I know he is blowing his air horn and hauling Gods most precious cargo in heaven. Love you Steve!
