Not sure what to say?

I was blessed to share a special time in my life with Steve as my high school sweetheart. I will always remember his laugh, his kindness, and the way he made life feel brighter. I will forever cherish those moments — from cheering for my favorite football player, driving around with friends, to our long talks under the stars. Steve will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for being a part of my story. Rest peacefully.

Suzan, Mark, and all of your family, please...

Steve's Obituary

Steve Franklin, age 65, of Florala, passed away August 14, 2025.

A devoted servant to his community and his country, Steve proudly served 27 years as a firefighter with Fort Rucker, where dedication and compassion touched countless lives. Prior to his firefighting career, he served honorably in the United States Air force, demonstrating the same commitment and courage that defined his life.

Steve was a true Auburn Tiger fan, and nothing brought him more joy than game day-firing up the grill, preparing a feast, and gathering friends and family to cheer on the Tigers. His love for Auburn was matched only by his love for the simple, peaceful moments-especially mornings at Lake Jackson. With a cup on coffee in hand, he found serenity in the stillness of the water and quiet beauty of the lake.

Above all else Steve built his life on the foundation of his faith. Jesus Christ was the anchor of his soul and the guide for every step he took. Steve left a legacy of love, service and faith to all who knew him.

He is survived by brother, Mark Franklin, sister, Suzan Imfeld (Bill), nephews, Justin Chambers (Leigh) and Austin Franklin (Sidney). He is also survived by numerous great nephews and nieces.

Funeral services for Steve Franklin will be 3PM Sunday August 17, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home with Jerry Hutcheson officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
