Steve "Bucky" Laduzinsky was born in Johnstown, PA, in 1931 and passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2025, at the age of 94. A proud member and Co-Captain of the 1949 Lane Tech City Champion Ponies Basketball Team, Steve went on to enjoy a 42-year career with Peoples Gas, serving as North Shop Service Supervisor until his retirement. He was a devoted and lifelong steward of St. Michael Orthodox Church, where his faith was a guiding light in his life. Steve lived each day with gratitude and love for his faith, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Anne; his parents, Stephen and Martha Laduzinsky; his father- and mother-in-law, Michael and Mary Chichon; brothers and sisters-in-law John and Pauline Laduzinsky, and Joseph and Natalie Laduzinsky; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Eugene Jankowski, Anna and Michael Chernikovich, Irene and Barney Bunzell; sister Catherine Laduzinsky; and sister- and brother-in-law Anna (Holchak) and Felix Andrulis. Steve is survived by his brother, Michael Laduzinsky; his loving children Karen (Robert Harmon) Konopka (the late Raymond Konopka), Janice (Tony) Cash, and Steven (Gina Knight) Laduzinsky; his cherished grandchildren Greg (Stephanie) Konopka, Dr. Megan (Matthew Martin) Konopka, Natalie (Bailey) Boswell, Collin Cash, Abigail Cash, Steven (Lauren) Laduzinsky II, Honora Laduzinsky, and Thomas Laduzinsky; and his great-grandchildren Sloane Martin and Kennedy Laduzinsky. Visitation: Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Orthodox Church, 7313 N. Waukegan Road, Niles, IL 60714. Funeral Liturgy: 11:00 a.m. Private Interment: Elmwood Cemetery.
