Remember hunting with Steve many years ago. Also helping to close out Toalson's gun on Washington st back in 82 when Grver passed away. Rest in peace my friend. Prayers for his family.

STEVE's Obituary

            Charles Steven “Steve” McAtee, 73, of Henderson, Kentucky, went to be with his Savior on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

            He was born in Henderson, Kentucky, on March 15, 1952, to the late Charles Owen and Alma Dean McAtee.  Steve was a plumber with McAtee Plumbing Heating and Air and was Plumbing Inspector for the State of Kentucky for more than 20 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends.  Steve was a faithful member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

            Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Veronica; his daughter, Charla McAtee of Henderson, Kentucky; one grandson, Kingston; one brother, Mike McAtee of Smith Mills, Kentucky; one sister, Pam Denton and her husband, John, of Smith Mills, Kentucky; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

            Services will be at noon Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Father Richard Meredith will officiate.  Entombment will be in St. Louis Cemetery Mausoleum.

            Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025, and until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

            Pallbearers will be Bubby King, Lee King, John Denton, Spurg Gabhart, Jay McClanahan, Anthony Driesbach, Wade Culver, and Jerry Dorris.

            His grandson, Kingston, will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

            Contributions may be made to New Hope Animal Rescue Center.
