Steve Ryan

J. Stephen "Steve" Ryan, 59, of Apex, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 11, 2025. He was born on August 14, 1965 in Monongahela, the son of Steve and Shirley Sampler Ribich.

Steve graduated from California University with a degree in computer science followed by a master’s degree in business administration from Duquesne University. He was currently working as an IT consultant with HRchitect. He was a devoted father who always ensured the best for his children. He embraced life with enthusiasm. Whether it was spending time with family and friends, following the Pittsburgh Steelers, indulging in his love for tennis, or traveling, he truly cherished these moments.

Steve always had a great circle of friends, too many to name individually. He truly honored these friendships.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son and daughter, Cole Ryan and Alayna Ryan; sister, Michele Judy and husband Dave; and mother-in-law, Mary Chambers Shirley. 

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Jodi Lynn Howells Ryan in 2017.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 1- 3 pm in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held at 3:00 pm with the Deacon Alexander Poroda officiating.
