Beloved brother of Susan Schreiber. Dear brother-in-law of Lynn (Mike Stone and the late Daniel) Fineberg. Beloved son of the late Thelma and Joseph Goldfarb. Dear uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend.
Steven was married to his first wife, Frances, for 54 years. In later years, he found renewed joy and companionship with his wife, Mary, with whom he shared the last decade of his life.
He began his career as a tax specialist with Ernst & Ernst and Emerson Electric Company. He later spent fourteen years with Sears, Roebuck and Company and two years as President and CEO of a manufacturer of consumer electrical products. Steve concluded his career with 30 years as an investment banker, during which he founded his own firm and completed more than 100 transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and public debt offerings.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Washington University and a Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling and attending the opera.
Graveside service Monday, March 16, 11:00am at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Road. Contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
