Susan's Obituary

Susan Shelton Hinnant, 70, of Pearsall, Texas passed into eternal rest Saturday, February 14, 2026, surrounded by her family.  She was born December 21, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas, to Howard M. and Sue Salmon Shelton.  Susan was a lifelong resident of Pearsall.  She was the proud owner of Shelton Cleaner’s, one of the oldest family-owned businesses in Pearsall.  Her love for the outdoors started at an early age on the family farm, where she rode horses all over Pearsall with her sisters and friends.  This love would later transition into scuba diving and snorkeling in Mexico or water skiing with friends anywhere a boat could be launched.  Her biggest love was fishing, and it didn’t matter what kind.  Whether at her favorite lake, in the Gulf of Mexico, or on the bank of a pond, that’s where she was happiest.  Helping grandkids bait a hook and clean fish was what she cherished most over the last few years.  Susan had a tender heart and an infectious laugh that will be missed by her family and friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Sue Shelton, husband Franklin Crawford, and brother James “Jim” Shelton.  She is survived by her children Lamar and Amanda Hinnant of San Antonio, Thomas and Jennifer Hinnant of Devine and Katie and Ben Millies of Pearsall.  She is also survived by her sister Roxanne Shelton of Pearsall, sister Jenefer and Wesley Ellgen of Pearsall, brother Howard “Willie” Shelton of Devine, niece Karlee Shelton of Lubbock and nephew Kyle Shelton of College Station.  She was also the best Mawmaw ever to Tyler, Dylan and Brooklyn Hinnant, Benjamin Millies and Susannah Hinnant.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Pearsall Methodist Church from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00a.m. at the Pearsall Methodist Church. A private burial will be held at the request of the family.
