Due to the upcoming weather services for Sylvia Cervantez have been rescheduled for WEDNESDAY JANUARY 28, 2026 from 4pm-8pm.
Some people leave footprints on our hearts that time can never erase. Sylvia Ann Cervantez was one of those rare souls. On January 19, 2026, in Houston, Texas, she was gently called from this life, leaving behind a family forever changed by her love.
Born in Victoria, Texas, on October 30, 1958, Sylvia lived her life for her family. She was the heart of her home, a source of comfort, and a steady presence in the lives of those who knew her. Her joy came from watching her family grow, and her greatest pride was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is reunited in heaven with her beloved granddaughter, Raegan Lopez; her parents, Jose and Julia Cervantez; her siblings, George Cano, Raymundo Najera, Rosalia Alvarez; and her dear son-in-law, Carlos Gonzalez.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Roshauna Lopez and her spouse Luis Gonzalez, Crystal G. Gonzalez, and Bernardo O. Lopez and his spouse Kristy.
Her legacy continues through her precious grandchildren: Alexis, Amanda, Luis, Aaron, Alysa, Aiden, Rosa Joyce, Robyn, and Robert.
She was blessed to know the joy of great-grandchildren: Adonis, Anthony, Alyana, Luna, Estrella, Fernando, Renesmee, and Noah, with another little blessing expected in 2026.
Sylvia is also survived by her siblings, Irene, Dora, and Raymond, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
Services will be held at South Houston Funeral Home, located at 1506 Houston Blvd, South Houston, Texas 77587, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sylvia’s love was endless, her heart was kind, and her spirit was strong. Though she is no longer here, her presence will be felt in every memory, every story, and every life she touched.
Rest peacefully, Sylvia. You will forever be loved.
