Mrs. Sylvia Etta McEwen, age 85, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Thursday, December 22, 2016, in a local retirement center.
Mrs. McEwen was born August 30, 1931, in Caraway, Arkansas, and had lived most of her life in Texarkana. She was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church, was retired from Larkotex, and was preceded in death by her husband, Lee R. McEwen, Sr., and her son, Lee R. McEwen, Jr.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Gale and Steve Woolsey of Texarkana, Arkansas, one daughter-in-law, Joy McEwen, of Jasper, Indiana, one brother and sister-in-law, Garland and Lela Watkins of Lebanon, Tennessee, five grandchildren, Matthew and Hillary McEwen of Lexington, Kentucky, Michael and Sarah McEwen of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, John and Madison McEwen of Hartford, Kentucky, James and Cindy Woolsey of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Deanna and Josh Mudford of Fouke, Arkansas, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P. M. Monday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. Craig Jenkins, Rev. Richard Posey, and Rev. Josh Mudford officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until service time on Monday.
The family will be at the home of Steve and Gale Woolsey, Texarkana, Arkansas.
