Tammy's Obituary

Tamara “Tammy” Sue Cornett Fisher of Somerset, Kentucky passed away August 31, 2025 in her family home.

She gave of herself freely as a wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, and friend. Married to David Paul Fisher of 48 years, they had two children, Frankia Colyer and the late Rachel Casada.  David and Tammy shared a beautiful love story together, beginning when she was just 16.  It was built on perseverance, devotion, and deep commitment.

She was especially devoted to her granddaughters Chloe and Callie Casada. A special bond was developed early on with her grandson Aiden Colyer when she helped to watch him while he was young.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gilberta Cornett; one daughter, Rachel Casada; one sister, Teresa Cornett; and one great-granddaughter, Ava Oakes.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband, David Paul Fisher of Somerset; daughter, Frankia (Marty) Colyer of Somerset; one brother, Steve (Betty) Cornett of Somerset; one sister, Tina Meece (Leonard Matherly) of Nancy; three grandchildren, Callie Casada, Chloe Casada and Aiden Colyer; and five great-grandchildren, Hunter Bowcock, Rayelyn Casada, Carter Casada, Weston Stigall and Madilyn Stigall.

A member of Immanuel Baptist Church, she lived a life of simplicity and quiet strength. She will be remembered for her loving, loyal, and “go with the flow” personality. Her love was steady, constant, and never showy. She instilled in her family the values of kindness, good manners, respect for others, and an appreciation for simple treasures and family heirlooms. She was like a second mom to her cousins and friends, opening her home with warmth and southern hospitality.

Tammy will be remembered for her caregiving heart, her home-cooked meals, and her quiet strength. She loved the beach, a good adventure, and time spent with friends.

Though her voice is silent now, her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who carry forward her love, laughter, and lessons.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will follow on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Hughes officiating.  Burial will be at the Bullock Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Lloyd Hart, Ronnie Hart, Marty Colyer, Leonard Matherly, David Piccirillo, Danny Hart, John Fisher and Steve Cornett.
