Even though I don't know you personally, I am so sorry for your loss. I was in Tanya's class at Ione. As a matter of fact, our pictures got switched in our senior yearbook. I remember her as such a kind, funny classmate. She always had a smile on her face. She was a talented singer and typist. (Back when we had those manual typewriters she was flawless.) I am sorry we didn't keep in touch or at least later hook up via Facebook. Your tribute to her in our local paper was heartwarming. ...

Dear Bob and family... I am saddened to see that we have lost Tanya. She was truly a wonderful nurse and friend, and I so enjoyed working with her at Home Health and Hospice. She was always a bright spot for me when she would pop in to say hi and chat, and share loving stories about our patients. Her positive attitude and everlasting smile will live on in my memory. Blessings to you.

Tiegs family, I remember Tanya's love of music. She had a lovely voice and I so enjoyed her singing in the choir. I missed her when she left Palouse and now she is with our Lord. God bless your families. Tecla

Tanya Lynn Tiegs, 61, was born in Heppner, Oregon on December 12, 1952 to Eldon and Patricia Tucker. Tanya went to be with Jesus on April 9, 2014 at her home overlooking Big Lake, after a 14 year battle with cancer. Tanya enjoyed travel, dancing, reading, cooking and knitting. She graduated with honors, in 1971, from Ione High School in Ione, Oregon. After high school she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon. She met, and married, her husband of 39 years Bob in Ione; after which they moved to Palouse, Washington where they had two children, Robert Douglas and Steven Christian. Tanya loved being a part of the boys? lives. She would often arrange her schedule to attend school events. She enjoyed watching the boys participate in sports and spent thousands of hours sitting on bleachers. Tanya and Bob moved to Oregon in 1997. While there they lived in Stayton and McMinnville before moving back to Washington in 2006. The move back to Washington brought her closer to family, including her granddaughters that have brought her much joy and happiness. Tanya and Bob enjoyed traveling and exploring the sites they visited. Tanya especially enjoyed two trips; one to Savannah Georgia where she got to explore areas that she had only read about and a trip to Ireland and Scotland where they drove, visited, learned, and explored sites dating back 5000 years. She especially enjoyed her visit to the Queen Mother?s castle in Scotland. After returning, Tanya would shine as she shared what they had seen on their trip. Tanya used her nursing degree to serve others in hospitals, nursing homes, and at home-health and hospice. While working for Home health and hospice of South Eastern Washington she received their award for excellence. She worked for, and thoroughly enjoyed, Dr. Gamson here in Mount Vernon at North West Family Physicians before she retired in 2012. The family would like to thank Lisa Nissley for her loving care of Tanya throughout the last months of her life.Tanya is survived by her husband, Robert H. Tiegs, children and grandchildren Robert, Julie, Mya, and Kylie Tiegs and Steven and Michelle Tiegs, and siblings David Tucker, Teresa King, and Tammie Williams.Memorial services will be held at the Palouse Federated Church with the date to be determined. The family asks that any memorial gifts be given to the American Cancer Association or the Palouse Federated Church.
