Not sure what to say?

Dear Tyler,
I am sorry to hear of your mom’s passing . It’s hard to lose someone especially around the Holidays. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

I was up that way not too long ago, but wasn't sure she still lived where I last knew she lived, so I didn't stop. Terry will be missed.

You will be remembered.

Had a passion for collecting vinyl records and remodeling her home.

Mitch and I met Terry before her married life when she moved back to the area and lived on Hannum Rd. We both had dairy goats (that was a LONG time ago!) We connected again when my mother bought her Aunt Ginny and Uncle Dick's home on West Evans in Mayville. We have fond memories of our past times together and extend our condolences to Tom and Tyler.

Terry's Obituary

ASHVILLE- After battling cancer, Terry Rhodes, 77, of Ashville, NY passed away peacefully in her home on Nov. 2, 2025, with her husband, son and faithful dog companion at her side. Terry was born in Jamestown, NY on September 23, 1948, and grew up in Evanston, Illinois, graduating from Evanston Township High School in 1965.

She spent many summers vacationing at her grandfather’s log cabin on the shores of Chautauqua Lake. She attended college at the University of Illinois, where she earned a degree in Anthropology. She then went on to take graduate courses at the University of Michigan, focusing on High School Education, as well as coursework at UC Berkeley and Boston University. She briefly lived in London and traveled throughout Europe. Terry also attended the original Woodstock Music Festival and numerous Beatles concerts and was an avid collector of vinyl records and memorabilia from the early 1960s through the mid-1970s. She returned to Chautauqua County and purchased a 100-year-old farmhouse, and enjoyed remodeling the home with the help of her husband, including electrical and plumbing work, and even constructing her own kitchen cabinets. During that time she worked for a temp agency and then the Chautauqua County Probation department, and finally worked as the Principal Office Typist at the Chautauqua County Family Court in Mayville. Upon her retirement, most of her time was spent at home with her family. She particularly enjoyed her flower gardens around the property. She enjoyed Chautauqua Lake, and would often visit Presque Isle Beach in Erie as well as Barcelona Beach in Westfield.

She is survived by her son, Tyler Rhodes of Lakewood, NY and her husband, Thomas Rhodes of Ashville, NY. Terry was a special and unique person whose main interests involved her family, home and dog.

At Terry’s request, there will be no public services. Memorial donations can be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care (20 W Fairmount Ave, Lakewood, NY 14750).
