Not sure what to say?

Judy, Troy and Tonya -

I'm so sorry for your loss with the passing of Terry...

Even though I was an annoying little sister, Terry was always so kind to me and I adored him! I thought that Judy had married the most handsome man out there!

I loved going to their apartment because I could wash their shiny brand new silverware, as well as Judy's spice rack didn't hold spices...she had candy in those little bottles!

I loved eating Judy's amazing...

Terry's Obituary

Terry Willis Teeples passed away peacefully at the Lodge Assisted Living and Memory Care on November 6, 2025 with his children by his side.  Terry was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Verl and Jessie Teeples on September 10, 1942.  He had one brother (Karl) and sister (Jackie).

Terry attended Granger High School, where he excelled in athletics and served as Student Body President. He often spoke about how he held the record for the fastest mile for 9 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served an honorable mission in Florida (1961-1963).

Terry married Judy Brimhall (March 1964).  They had two children – Troy and Tonya (later divorced).

Terry worked for Stevens Henegar College and Richard Bowers Construction Company where he spent most of his time working in Hawaii and Alaska.  He was a member of the Ute Rangers and participated in chariot racing. He also had many racehorses. Most familiar was Proudest Effort, which later became a stud horse. Many would describe him as a “horse whisperer”, with an extraordinary ability to train and connect with horses—almost as if he could communicate with them.

Terry started his own horse transportation company and worked for many years. He experienced several near-misses while driving and often credited guardian angels for his protection. He sold his transportation company and started a Horse Boarding business. He had a ranch in South Jordan which he moved to Willard and had a beautiful property which he still remembered and loved and spoke about fondly, even in his last days. It was in Willard where he was welcomed by the Willard 1st ward who had such compassion and took him under their wing.

Terry is survived by his two children Troy (Jill) and Tonya Montoya (Bill).  He is also survived by seven grandchildren Tayler Brown (Tony), Talia Gomez (DJ), Tianna Ybarguen (Gus Garcia), Spencer Teeples, Alyssa Lund (Kyle), Trisha Teeples and Sister Shayna Teeples (serving in the Cambodia mission).  He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren Mia, Mason, Crue, Casey and Ellie.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister Jackie and survived by Brother Karl.

Cremation services are under the care of Broomhead Mortuary.  A private graveside will be held at a later date at the South Jordan City Cemetery.

Special thanks to The Lodge Assisted Living and Memory Care for making the last two years of his life comfortable.
