Thea's Obituary

Thea Frances Nelson Galor,102, of Waterford passed away Wednesday October 29, 2025, after a long and fulfilling life filled with love, dedication, and service to her family and careers.

Thea was born on May 5, 1923, in Red Hook, New York. At the age of 12, Thea moved to Montville, Connecticut, where she spent her formative years and graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1941. In 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, “Brigg” Galor, beginning a partnership that shaped a strong and loving family.

Thea was the devoted mother of two daughters: Patricia, who is married to Jim Parsells, and Viktoria (Galor) Bochain. Her family continued to grow and flourish, and she was blessed with three granddaughters—Willette Thea Bell, Lily Ylang, and Mary Louise Bell—as well as a grandson, Kip Bochain Jr. She also cherished Kip’s wife, Amanda, and their daughter, Natalie, her beloved great-granddaughter. Thea was also predeceased by her great-grandson, William Isaiah Brown, who holds a special place in her family’s hearts.

Thea dedicated over 25 years of service to General Dynamics’ Data Processing Department, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Even after retiring from Electric Boat, she continued to demonstrate her remarkable work ethic by working at Jordan Marsh and later at Foxwoods, remaining a full-time employee until the age of 86. Thea was fiercely independent throughout her life, meeting every change and challenge with determination and resilience.

Thea’s warmth, fierce independence, and resilient spirit touched all who knew her. Her love for family and her tireless strength serves as an inspiration to those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she graced.

A Private Graveside Service was held at St. Patrick Cemetery in Uncasville, Connecticut.
