Mr. Gatewood was more than just a neighbor — he was a part of my childhood and a part of my heart. From the time I was young, he made me feel welcome in his home and safe in his presence. Growing up with his children BJ, Emily, Ted, and Todd, he was always watching out for us, always making sure we were okay. Those memories will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Ted was an amazing person, and my heart is so heavy thinking about this loss. Beejay and I were inseparable growing up, and I spent most of my time at Rene and Ted’s house. That home holds so many of my childhood memories. Ted’s presence, his guidance, his laughter, and the way he made everyone feel welcome are things I will always carry with me.When I think of him, so many moments come to mind. The love, the lessons, the comfort of just being there.. He will truly be missed more than words...
