My brother Harold and I both studied with Ted and were his assistants in courses at Northern Illinois University. Later we lived near Marbach and in 1981 I worked alongside Ted at the Schiller archives during the time when he did so much of his pioneer work on Heidegger's unpublished manuscripts. Professor Kisiel was a superb philosopher, of course. But having known him so many years as such, it was a true delight to meet him in person at a meeting of the Heidegger Circle a few years back. Such a kind man, and generous with his time. My heartfelt condolences to his family!
