Thomas Mason Barr, Sr., Watertown, passed away Saturday, June 11th at Sunset Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where he had been a resident for a few months. He was 75 years old.
Born in Watertown February 16, 1947, Thomas was a son to Harlan H. and Leta I. (Mason) Barr. He grew up on Iroquois Avenue and was educated locally. Following his education Thomas attended the Job Corp in Oregon.
Thomas married Joan Potaski and the couple resided in Adams Center. The marriage would end in divorce.
He worked for Faichney Instruments in Watertown for several years before leaving due to health issues. More recently, Thomas worked for Just In Case.
Thomas enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, swimming, boating, animals, scratch-off tickets, and a cold beer on a hot day.
He is survived by his children, Ann Marie (Tracy) Coburn of Adams Center, Thomas M. Barr, Jr. of Oregon, Theodore Jay (Paula) Barr of Watertown; his sisters, Mary Lou (Bill) Benway, Suzanne (Calvin) Richardson; his cousins, Bob Wilder, Janet Dueser; and his grandchildren, Kayla Barr of Watertown, Cameron Barr of Watertown, Billy (Chelsea) Johnston of Watertown, Chelsea Johnston (fiancé Cody Lockerbie) of Adams, Roxanne (Dustin) Shawcross of Philadelphia, Shawna Johnston (significant other Zack Thompson) of Lowville, & Dylan Coburn of Adams Center. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Gavin, Liliana, William III, Amaya, Saydee, Brody, Kendall, Addi, Brycen, Amelia, Braelyn; and his nephews, Jack Richardson, Kenny Richardson, & Time Richardson.
Thomas was predeceased by a brother, Harlan H. Barr.
There are no public services planned at this time.
