Jenny, I wish we had heard of Tom's passing sooner. So sorry that we missed the visitation. You will be in our prayers. Tom is in a better place.

Jenny, so sorry for your loss. It's been a long time since American Legend #120. Tari and I found out too late for the visitation and service. Our prayers to you and your family.

Worked with Tom many years ago at Howmet, he was a very nice man. So sorry for your loss.

Tom was a great guy and a dear friend of ours for many many years. We will miss him but remember the fun times. Our prayers go out to Jenny and family at this difficult time. We are with you Jenny as you move forward.

Thomas's Obituary

Thomas Joseph Burns Jr. 82, of Wichita Falls with his loving wife and soulmate, Jenny by his side left this earth on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 to start a new journey.

The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Darrell Marion, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Thomas was born on May 23, 1942 to the late Thomas Joseph Sr. and Rita Garland (Kelly) in Southington, Connecticut.  Tom attended Senior High School in New Britian, Connecticut. Later he further his education at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Tom proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corp. Also, he was very active in the American Legion and served four years as the Commander. Tom met Jenny Tharp at Chapter 11 in Wichita Falls in 1979. The couple married in 1982 and spent many wonderful years together. They enjoyed golfing with their friends. Tom worked for Pratt and Whitney at Howmet in the Quality Assurance dept. He retired in 2002 after 40 years to enjoy his family and friends. Tom will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and his neighbors. Anyone who knew Tom, loved Tom.

Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Burns; and daughter, Nadine Burns Cerasoli.

He is survived by wife and soulmate of 42 years, Jenny Lee Burns; brother, William Burns and wife, Charline of Southington, Ct; sister, Denise Burns of Southington, Ct.; and numerous, nephews, nieces, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
