Thomas Edward Canterbury, 70, of Gandeeville, W.Va., died Sunday December 7, 2025 at home.
He was born April 18, 1955, at Clendenin, W.Va., the son of Verda Faye Anderson Canterbury of Clendenin and the late William Edward Canterbury.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Canterbury.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Brenda J. White Canterbury; children, Chris Vance of Charleston, W.Va., Jason (Judy) Canterbury of Pee Wee, W.Va., Jackie (Tabitha) Canterbury of Spencer, W.Va., Joshua Canterbury of Beckley, W.Va., Amy (Mike) West of Rockport, W.Va.; daughter-in-law, Natasha Canterbury; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother, Gary Canterbury of Clendenin, sisters, Alice Armstrong of Oak Hill, W.Va., Diane (Curtis) Armstrong of Wytheville, Va., Brenda (Roger) Stewart of Ashford, W.Va., and Peggy Hall of Pinnacle, N.C.
Thomas was a retired roustabout. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or farming. He especially like spending time with his grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 10 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, W.Va., with Pastor Clark Samples, Jr. officiating. He will be laid to rest on his farm.
The family will receive friends 90 minutes before the service at the funeral home.
