I met Tom in the 1980's and we became friends sitting at the customer counter at Hoffman Supply on Jefferson St. in Springfield. He always had a smile and was upbeat. I looked forward to the conversation. Over time we went our separate ways and then 30+ years later we both ended up in Arkansas. I ran into Tom at Johnstone Supply in Springdale and it was like no time had passed, he was as always so friendly and and upbeat. Found out I lived down the street from him and we planned on a camping...

Glad you invited Mom & I to your Vlastuin reunions these last years. I feel like I got to know you all better, including Tom & Shelly. My prayers are with you these next few days, but also as you continue on. May God be near & dear to each of you! Cousin, Jan

Tom is my cousin and it is quite shocking to hear of Tom's passing. My heart goes out to Shelly, the kids, his mom and siblings. Tom will definitely be missed. We are praying for you all as you grieve.

I've known tom for many years, i am deeply saddened by his loss and he was always so helpful and he will be missed by many and i want to offer my condolences to his family and friends.
