Thomas's Obituary

Tom “Butch” Devera, 76, of Newcastle, Oklahoma died on Thursday, October 26, 2023, in Blanchard. Tom was born on September 9, 1947, in Streator, Illinois. 

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Patricia (Pat) Devera of Streator, Illinois.

Tom is survived by his son Scott Devera, daughter-in-law Shanda Geurin-Devera, and two step-granddaughters, Brindlee and Morgan Geurin, all of Bridge Creek, OK; daughter Tracey Devera, of Oklahoma City, OK; brother William (Bill) Devera and sister-in-law Jayne Devera, of Streator, IL; sister June Devera, of Streator, IL; sister Mary Lou Stewart, of Streator, IL; sister Barbara (Barb) South of Moore, OK; brother Kevin Devera and sister-in-law Rose Devera, of Round Lake Beach, IL; former wife Janice Devera, of Oklahoma City, OK, and all of his nephews, nieces and their families.  

Tom graduated from Streator High School and joined the Air Force. He was stationed at Clark Air Force Base, in the Philippines, and at Tinker Air Force Base, in Oklahoma.  He and Janice married in 1971 and they had two children while living in Del City, OK.  He also began working at the Oklahoma City Works Plant in 1971.  At this location, he worked for the following companies until retirement in 2003: Western Electric, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Celestica.  He and his family moved to Newcastle, OK, in 1981, and this was his residence until his passing.

Viewing will be from 11:00am to 8:00pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00am Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. 

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to donate to a cancer charity or a charity of your choice.
