The Life Story of our
Beloved Thomas
Thomas Goodley was born on October 20, 1938, in Seguin, Texas, to the late Willie Mae Carter and Earl Goodley, Sr. The family later settled in Corpus Christi, Texas where Thomas attended and graduated from Solomon Cole School.
Thomas began a family of his own, embracing five bonus children and eventually adding two more children to his growing family. He later relocated to Taft, where he gained four additional bonus children and again added two more. A dedicated provider and father figure, Thomas touched many lives with his warmth, strength, and unwavering support.
He worked for many years as a Maintenance Technician at several apartment complexes in the Corpus Christi, Texas area. Later, he moved to the San Antonio area, where he worked at Jones BBQ until its closing. Thomas eventually relocated to Beaumont to be closer to family, where he spent his later years surrounded by those he loved.
Thomas was preceded in death by his sisters, Inetta, Gladys, Willie Mae, Wilma, and Edna Mae; his brothers, Nathaniel, Francis, Earl Jr., and Sylvester; and bonus children Catherine, Amos, and Sheldon.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Ursula Goodley (Gaby), Misty (Chad), and Doris Ruben; his son, Bobby Greenwood; Bonus children, Estelle Davis, Sharon Greenwood, Sandra Neal, George McKinney, Anthony McKinney, and Darrel Greenwood; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many dear friends who will forever honor his legacy and cherish the love he shared.
Thomas will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
