GRINER-Thomas E. Griner, Jr., age 74, of Graniteville, S.C., loving husband for 40 wonderful years to Dorothy Whittle Griner and son of the late Thomas E. Griner, Sr. and the late Edna Ward Griner, entered into rest on Thursday, May 12, 2016. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Angela (Ronald) Cook of Harlem, Ga., Julie Griner of Martinez, Ga., Lisa (Joel) Bryant, Tiffany (Robbie) Cox, Nina Griner and Michelle (Donnie) Crawford all of North Augusta, S.C.; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was born in Augusta, Ga. but has been a resident of Aiken County for over 40 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Aiken. He was a US Marine Veteran. He was a retired Maintenance Mechanic with Graniteville Company. He was a Volunteer Fireman and had worked as a Policeman for nine years. He loved working with the Little League Football and Baseball teams. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Next to his love for his family and grandchildren, came his love for his pets. He shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 74 years that God granted him on this earth; however, death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. A service, celebrating his life and home going, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Darrell Engle and Rev. Ken Hechmer officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Charles T. Smith, Tony Griner, Gary White, Byron Steger, Michael Fouche and John Reynolds. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Saturday evening, May 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials, in his honor, may be made to Wounded Warriors, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256 or to Aiken County Humane Society, 199 Willow Run Rd., Aiken, S.C. 29801.
