Thomas Harold Learned, 84, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, in Bella Vista, Arkansas. He was born on January 21, 1941, in Rumford, Maine, to Charles Thomas Learned and Roberta Thurston Learned.
Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he dedicated his career to construction, building fine homes and custom swimming pools. A skilled craftsman, he especially enjoyed woodworking, creating beautiful knife blocks and other handcrafted pieces that were both functional and meaningful.
An avid outdoorsman, Tom loved fishing and hunting, but above all, he cherished time spent with his family. He especially enjoyed RV camping adventures with his beloved wife, Kaye, exploring new places and the quiet beauty of nature together. A true Mainer at heart, he never lost his deep love for his home state. In high school and college, he competed in cross-country skiing and the long jump, and he always loved — and deeply missed — snowmobiling and ice fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Raylene Richard.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 62 years, Mary Kaye Winter Learned; his three children, Liana Hendrix (Robert) of Washburn, Missouri, Thomas Learned (Lupe) of Grove, Oklahoma, and Trevor Learned (Marlena) of Seligman, Missouri; five grandchildren, Savannah Learned, Hannah Hendrix, Brianna Savage (Learned), Ryanne Learned, and Allen Hendrix; two great-grandchildren, Barrett and Jasper; and two sisters, Gail Belanger (Irvin) of Gouldsboro, Maine, and Becky Wright (Peter) of Gilford, New Hampshire.
His legacy of love, craftsmanship, and quiet strength will live on through his family.
Graveside services pending.
