Thomas Christopher Johnson
Early in the morning of January 5, 2026, as he peacefully slept, Thomas Christopher Johnson was called home to be with his Savior. He was born on October 21, 1976, to the union of Edward and Geraldine Johnson. He was their youngest child and only son. He attended McDonogh #42 Elementary School and Beauregard Middle School before attending McDonogh #35, where he played on the football team. He graduated in 1995 and briefly attended Delgado Community College. Over the years he worked at Banner Chevrolet, the New Orleans Public Library and The Superdome. He was baptized at St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church, and in recent months faithfully attended Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He will be sorely missed by his loved ones, his mother Geraldine Johnson, his sisters, Wendy Johnson and Michelle Johnson Delery (Alan), nephews Adam (Vyvian), Seth (Farrah) and Shane, and his great niece Audrey whom he loved dearly, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially Keith Whitehead, Anthony and Lisa McGowan, who all cared for him over the years like a little brother. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Thomas Johnson, grandparents Jim and Kittie Johnson, and Edna Ester and Tom Johnson. Special thanks also go to the staff and his friends at Essential Care. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, January 9, 2026 at St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church, 2926 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70125 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Interment Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Drive, Metairie, La 70003.
