Thomas Atchison Oakes, Jr.

I always enjoyed going to car shows with Tom and Harry. I have pictures of my son playing cars with Tom at the Westgate show. Also all the kids that were able to get pictures in the T bucket.

At the Oelwein show this year I made sure Tom had his purple koolaid he always drank at shows.

I will miss him terribly, and his family is in my thoughts.

I am so very sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing. I remember him fondly at the Oakes reunions when I was a kid. Tommy was my Grandma Vi Russell's brother. My mother was Cathleen S Duke and passed 2yrs ago. I'm the eldest daughter, Diana O'Hara, followed by my sister Colleen O'Hara, and brother John Duke. Since my mother’s passing we found some pictures of the Oakes family which I included along with this message.

Our hearts and hugs go out to the Oakes family.
We enjoyed Tom's sense of humor.
We appreciated his & TJ's support by being present at the Fayette & West Union car shows.
There will always be an empty spot for him in our hearts at these shows.
He was kind enough to let our grandson ride with him during a car cruise.
So even, Brodie has a special place in his heart for Tom.
I went to school with Dave & Deb and worked with Cindy.
