Not sure what to say?

Tom was a unique person and I loved him from the day we met. He was my brother in law and my friend. I can still hear Tom's unique laugh. I remember the last time I saw Tom when visiting family in California. A stop by Tom's with Mary's Pizza and Moms Apple Pie was a highlight of my trip. Tom, you will always be part of my family. Love Peggy

Thomas's Obituary

Thomas was born on Oct. 2, 1950 in Vallejo, Ca. He was the third son of William and Mildred Roberts.  The family later moved to the property on Mueller Road in Sebastopol, CA.  He attended Oak Grove Elementary school and later graduated from El Molino High School in 1969. In high school Tom loved playing various sports.

After high school Tom did a stint in the Army Reserves which took him to San Jose, CA.  Tom attended San Jose Junior College and worked as a teller at the Bank of America.  It is here that Tom met Karen Robertson.

Tom and Karen married in January of 1973.  They lived in San Jose for several years.  Tom worked as a meat cutter for Luce and Co. in San Francisco.

In 1978 their daughter Kimberly Nora was born.  They wanted to raise Kimberly in the country thus not long after they took the opportunity to move to Sebastopol.  He went into the tractor business with his father and later became a general contractor.  When his parents decided to retire and move to Oregon in 1980 Tom bought the equipment from his father. He and Karen bought the home and property where he was raised.

Tom was always involved in sports and enjoyed coaching many of the teams Kim participated in. That was his joy and passion to help people.  A highlight was watching his daughter grow as an athlete.

Tom was an amazing grandfather to Hailey Rae. They shared a special bond.  He always made an extra effort to make life fun for Hailey.

Tom was authentically himself.  People were drawn to him because he was kind and loved talking to people. He had humble roots and always saw people for who they could be.  People knew they had a friend in Tom right away.  He was extremely loyal.  If you were in Tom’s tribe, you felt protected, cared for and loved.  He was also goofy/funny and he never grew up but in a good way.  He kept a child-like joy throughout the years.  He could build or fix anything. His family gave him the nickname MacGyver. He was fierce, passionate and stubborn but in a loving way.  Tom had a special way of connecting with people.  He always had a story to share.

There will never be another Tom Roberts.

He passed away unexpectedly at Kaiser Hospital.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his loving Wife Karen, Daughter Kim and adoring Granddaughter Hailey Rae

     In Tom’s words “So long”
