Thomas Michael Rush Jr., lovingly known as Tommy, was born on October 21, 1996, in Fallon, the first male baby born at Banner Churchill Hospital. From the very beginning, Tommy had a way of making his presence known, and he carried that light with him throughout his life.
Growing up in Fallon, Tommy played hockey from a young age all the way through high school, forming many lifelong friendships along the way. He graduated from Churchill County High School, where his love for sports, community, and camaraderie continued to grow. He was the kind of friend who showed up, steady, loyal, and always ready with a smile or a laugh. He loved the outdoors and adventure, hunting, wakeboarding, snowboarding, riding side-by-sides, and spending time at Sand Mountain. Whether on the water, in the snow, or out in the desert, Tommy felt most alive surrounded by the people he loved and the freedom of open spaces.
Tommy proudly served eight years in the United States Air Force as a firefighter. He carried his role with courage and pride, serving alongside his brothers and building bonds that lasted well beyond his years of service. After separating from the Air Force, he began working as an apprentice with Local Union 3 at Precision Crane, dedicating himself to building a strong future through hard work and skill.
Tommy had a deep passion for Harley-Davidsons and the community that came with them. That love led him to Smoke & Iron, MC. The motorcycle community was more than a hobby, it was brotherhood, loyalty, and identity. Riding gave him freedom, connection, and purposeHe also had a special love for dogs, especially rescuing. Tommy and his wife, Briana, shared two beloved dogs, Charlie and Ziggy. Ziggy was Tommy’s best friend and hunting buddy, even if he was more of a couch potato than a true hunting dog. Their bond was undeniable, and Tommy’s heart for rescuing and loving animals showed his gentle and compassionate side.Above all else, Tommy was a devoted husband to his wife, Briana. He was a cherished son to Thomas Rush Sr. and Patti Rush, a beloved grandson to his grandma, and a loved son-in-law and family member. He will always be remembered as a great son, a loving husband, and a loyal friend to many.
Tommy’s smile could light up a room, and his laugh was warm, affectionate, and unforgettable. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made on those who knew and loved him will live on forever.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A celebration of Tommy's life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Noon at Smith Family Funeral Home in Fallon. 505 Rio Vista Drive.
